Your vehicle’s air-conditioner not working is most likely because of a failing compressor or a freon leak. While these are the easy to spot reasons that the AC isn’t cooling inside your car, it might be anything as simple as a bad compressor belt or a dirty cabin air filter. Regardless of how or why when you are expecting the sweet relief of ice-cold air it is incredibly irritating anytime it doesn’t come through. The most likely reason your AC isn’t cooling is your car’s AC started leaking. Your car’s air-conditioning unit needs a freon to lower the ambient air temperature which creates refreshing cold air. The AC system needs the engine power, if your vehicle is in EV mode then the engine has stopped running and won’t power the AC.
If the AC is turned on but the fan stopped working then you might have a blown air-conditioner fuse. Fuses help protect components of a car from a power surge and while it may just have to be replaced, if your air-conditioner fuse keeps popping then it’s possible you have a much larger problem. There’s also a chance that the vehicle’s air-conditioner Compressor might be affected by a low level of air-conditioning refrigerant or a possible leak that has to be repaired.
If you’ve seen any damp spots in or around your car recently, that might be because of an air-conditioning leak in your vehicle. When your AC is producing cold air into your vehicle, it has to place all of that moisture it’s absorbed from outside and flows down the evaporator drain pipe. This can also be caused by the AC Refrigerant amount being too low which leads to the evaporator coils freezing up and an overflow of condensation. You should also have an eye out for faulty seals in the AC compartment or the AC’s air filters in case this problem keeps happening.
